Applicants must be Kenyan citizens aged 19 and above, with a minimum of KCSE grade C- (minus) or its equivalent, and possess computer skills.

The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) has opened applications for 12,520 temporary positions to support a nationwide 30-day voter registration drive.

Successful candidates will earn about Sh2,000 per day, and applications will close at midnight on March 3, 2026. The recruitment is aimed at strengthening Kenya’s voter database ahead of future elections.

In a statement issued on Wednesday, February 25, 2026, the commission said the temporary roles include Voter Registration Assistants, Voter Registration Clerks, and ICT Clerks, all of whom will serve during the registration exercise across all wards.

“This recruitment is part of efforts to facilitate efficient voter registration across the country,” the commission said.

Applicants must be Kenyan citizens aged 19 and above, with a minimum of KCSE grade C- (minus) or its equivalent, and possess computer skills. For certain positions, possession of a diploma in ICT, statistics, education, business administration, or a related field will be considered an advantage.

ICT Clerks will handle the operation and troubleshooting of biometric registration equipment, including KIEMS kits and related software, ensuring systems remain functional throughout the exercise. Voter Registration Assistants will supervise clerks at the ward level, coordinating equipment schedules, compiling statistics, monitoring daily progress, and ensuring that each ward meets its voter registration targets.

Voter Registration Clerks will directly assist citizens seeking to register, ensuring accurate data entry and completion of registration processes. The commission said that shortlisted candidates will need to present copies of their National Identification Card, academic certificates, and other relevant documents.

Selected personnel will undergo mandatory training before deployment and take an oath of secrecy to safeguard the integrity and confidentiality of the voter registration process. Applicants are required to submit all necessary documents through the official IEBC portal using their registered email addresses, and ensure all information is accurate and submitted before the March 3 deadline.

The IEBC said the temporary recruitment is designed to enhance participation in the electoral process by making voter registration efficient, accurate, and accessible. The exercise aims to ensure that eligible citizens are able to register seamlessly across all wards nationwide.
